Antenna Test On The Full Wave Centre Fed. Paul From Grimsby Stops By For A QSO.

Hey guys.. Drew here, coming to you from my radio shack nestled in the beautiful Adirondack Mountains. In this video, I wanted to share a cool DX contact I had with my friend Paul (26CT-5136) all the way over in Grimsby, England. ​It was a busy morning of testing and tweaking. You'll see me working with my Yasue 450d. I was also experimenting with my antennas, switching back and forth between the Astroplane and a simple piece of wire to see how the signals were holding up. Paul was coming in pretty well—anywhere from a 5 to a 7 on the meter—though the propagation was definitely being a bit "weird" and bouncy as the morning went on. ​Beyond the signal reports, we just had a good old-fashioned chat about everything from "welfare radios" of the 90's to the latest solar forecasts and the chance of seeing the Aurora. It’s always a blast to see who i can pull in from across the pond when the bands are open. ​Thank you for stopping by to check out the shack..
