“I love this city. It's vital for me to be able to record and gig here and be a part of the music scene here. It's my home, and I think you need to have that connection with the city and the people and the music there.” One of Belfast’s most beloved musicians, Joshua Burnside takes us on a journey of the people, places and communities that inspire his work and shares why Belfast’s UNESCO City of Music designation means so much to him and the city he calls home. About Joshua Burnside Joshua Burnside is an experimental folk artist based in Belfast, and a recipient of the Northern Ireland Music Prize for his debut album ‘EPHRATA’. Burnsides’s work has been highly praised by the The Sunday Times, Irish Times, State.ie and The Thin Air as well receiving huge support from BBC 6 Music DJ’s Lauren Laverne, Tom Ravenscroft, Guy Garvey, and BBC Radio 1’s Phil Taggart and Huw Stephens. He runs the Sailortown Folk Club each week in Belfast’s American Bar.
