Episode 29 of the Wrong Speed Record Chat. An almost certainly never ending series of chats with music folk, friends, and legends. We will talk records. We will talk CDs. We will talk tapes. (This episode was recorded two weeks before the terrible news broke of John Hannon's untimely death. It was devastating news. We decided to let this episode run as John's impact on Southend and the UK's music scene was so important - we talk about his studio and the bands Pete and John did together. As I say, the news was totally devastating. Lot's of love to all who knew him, his family, all his friends, and his bandmates). It's Pete Wilkins from The Wolfhounds (nowadays). Was in Woe when I first met him properly. Then was in Liberez. Was also in Stirling (get their 7": https://chunklet.bandcamp.com/album/5.... In this episode almost every record Pete shows I've not heard or am unaware of. He's a deep diver for '64-66 garage rock and that world is vast. I'm a Nuggets/Back From The Grave owning part timer in comparison. Some excellent tips are heading your way. We talk about Suffolk and Southend. We talk about recording the Woe Colossus record. We talk about record shops and punk rock shows. We talk about the CDR world of the late 90s / early 2000s, the good and bad points. We talk about Chunklet and prog (one is good, one is bad). Pete's someone I could talk too for hours. Cannot wait to meet up and hang out again. Hope you enjoy his episode.
