On February 2, 2026, Father Stefanus Hendrianto, SJ, pronounced his Final Vows in the Society of Jesus. The Final Vows mark the culmination of the long formation process for a Jesuit. Father Hendrianto had previously taken his First Vows after completing his Novitiate training in 2011. Following several years of additional training, ministerial work, and his priestly ordination, Father Hendrianto entered the final stage of formation known as "tertianship." After this stage, the Superior General of the Society of Jesus invited Father Hendrianto to pronounce his Final Vows, signifying his full incorporation into the Society. This documentary captures the Sacred Liturgy celebrated on February 2, 2026, during the Feast of the Purification of the Blessed Virgin Mary, at Mission Santa Clara de Asís in Santa Clara, California. During this ceremony, Father Hendrianto made his vows of perpetual poverty, chastity, and obedience, along with a special vow of obedience to the Sovereign Pontiff regarding to the mission. Father Paul Mariani, S.J., received Father Hendrianto's final vows on behalf of the Superior General of the Society of Jesus. Father Hendrianto's life journey is a remarkable testament to God's grace. He often described himself as Chinese by ancestry, Indonesian by birth, and American by Divine Providence. Once a student activist in Indonesia's pro-democracy movement, he later became a legal scholar with a doctorate in law. Eventually, he responded to God's calling to enter religious life. He credited his spiritual conversion to "Spe Salvi" by Pope Benedict XVI, which he regarded as one of the greatest encyclicals ever. After his conversion during his doctoral studies in the United States, he entered the Jesuit Novitiate and spent years engaging in study, ministry, and teaching in five different countries across four continents. Ultimately, his primary identity is that of a Jesuit priest and a Son of St. Ignatius. Produced by: Mocha Media, Inc.® Original Music title: "Vox Vocationis" composed by Alfonso E.
