The Verizon Indy Car Series is using carbon-carbon brakes from PFC. It takes 6-9 months to form carbon-carbon. These brakes have great cold bite characteristics, very linear in their torque output, and deliver a smooth transient response in torque output as well. PFC started with a clean sheet of paper to optimize the shape of the calipers out of a single block and made a premium braking system for Indy Car. They believe they have the capability to slow anything over 200mph better than ever before including Top Fuel.
