This instrumental theme was the syntony of the series produced, written and directed by Felix Rodriguez de la Fuente, The Man and the Earth, a television series about nature, produced by Televisión Española, and which was broadcast from March 4, 1974 until the June 20, 1981.Considered as a reference of documentaries on nature, it was structured in three parts, from 1974 to 1980: South America (Venezuela), Iberian Fauna and North American Fauna (Canada and Alaska). To underline musically such an ambitious television project, Felix Rodriguez de la Fuente counted on the invaluable collaboration of one of the most prestigious Spanish composers of that time, Antón García Abril. His theme of the initial credits is a classic of Spanish music, and in it the Aragonese artist grants almost all the prominence to the percussion instruments, in clear allusion to the tribal and enigmatic character of the typical ambience of the documentaries on the wild fauna.
