Working with young athletes to build speed, power, and long term athletic foundations. This session focused on developing explosive ability in an 8 year old athlete. We targeted force production, acceleration, deceleration, change of direction, and overall movement efficiency. The session included fundamental movement patterns such as squatting, landing mechanics, and single leg control, alongside balance, coordination, foot speed, and body awareness. A strong emphasis was placed on rate of force development, eccentric control, tissue capacity, and neuromuscular coordination. These qualities underpin speed and athletic performance while also reducing injury risk as young athletes grow and mature. This work is not just about short term performance. Developing strong movement fundamentals early carries through sport, adolescence, and life beyond competition. I specialise in developing young athletes involved in ball sports including football, basketball, tennis, and more. The goal is simple. To make them faster, more explosive, and more resilient. Speed is one of the most important physical qualities in sport, and when developed correctly, it improves performance across every level.
