Half-day in Julian California | Autumn Jubilee at Fort Cross | Apple Pies at Mom's Pie | Fall 2021

Happy Fall, y'all! It's officially the fall season, and while our temperatures in Southern California are still hovering around the 80s, we still like to welcome fall... warmly 😆 And since we are celebrating a new season, we decided to drive up to Julian where the fall vibes is pretty strong. Imagine apple picking, freshly-baked apple pies, pumpkin patches, hayrides, and a charming little town - Julian is just the perfect place! And it's only an hour drive from San Diego, so a daytrip or even a half-day trip is totally doable! It was our first time driving up to Julian and it's only fitting that we get apple pies first. We were debating whether we should go to Julian Pie Company or Mom's Pie, but ultimately we decided on Mom's - and we loved it, especially the Apple Caramel Crumb! 💛 A suggestion we got is to visit the Wynola Branch instead of the one downtown because it. gets. packed. And I should say, we love the Wynola branch not only because there weren't a lot of people, but also because of their nice garden with outdoor seating. Not too far from Mom's is Fort Cross (full name is Fort Cross Old Timey Adventures). It's a family-owned farm which has events and activities for all ages and I must say, it has such a rustic and charming vibe that I totally enjoyed. There were also a ton of spots to take fall-themed photos! Our toddler especially loooved this place, mostly because of all the areas he can run to and climb on 🙈 We initially planned on doing apple picking and a visit to the pumpkin patch, but it got hotter around noon, and there were a lot of people, too.
