How To Find Inspiration

I’m Jack Donovan, author of The Way of Men, and after 20 years of writing and creating, I wanted to share my thoughts on how to find inspiration. Men are always looking for magic bullets and routines and processes, but fundamentally, I think it’s about action, interaction, and reaction. You need more input, more stimuli, more experiences, more conversations. There are also strategies such as walking and meditation. In this video, I also discuss Aristotle’s Lyceum and Plato’s Academy—places where men would wrestle, compete, and debate ideas together. I also see that happening organically today in jiu-jitsu and submission grappling at open mats, and there is something ancient and correct about it. If you're experiencing a creative block, my advice is to evaluate your inputs. Garbage in, garbage out. Seek out new or better inputs and stimuli from culture and other men.
