Today I am showing you how to make Urad Dal Pakoda. I have soaked 1 cup of Urad Dal for 1.5 hours. You can soak it for 1.5 hours or 2 hours. It will become very soft. I have washed it and put it in a bowl. I have soaked half a cup of urad dal. You can use as much as you want. 2 cups or 1.5 cups. I have added half a teaspoon of salt. I am adding a little water. It should not be too thin. We will see and then add water. I have added 3 tablespoons of water. I will grind it. I have added 3 tablespoons of water. I will add some more water. I have added 2 tablespoons of water. I will grind it to a smooth paste. It should not be too thin. If the pakoda is too thin, it will absorb a lot of oil. I am adding semolina to it. I have soaked and grinded half a cup of urad dal. I have added half a cup of semolina. You can add salt as per your taste. I’m adding I have added 2 tablespoons of water for semolina. If the dough is too thin, do not add water to it. I have finely chopped some curry leaves. I am adding 1 finely chopped green chilli. I am adding some finely chopped coriander leaves. I like coriander leaves, so I am adding more. I am adding 1 finely chopped medium onion. You can skip onion if you do not want. But it will give a good taste. I am adding 1 tsp cumin seeds. Cumin seeds give a good taste. I have added ¼ tsp salt. You can add salt as per your taste. If you add onion, it will absorb water. It will mix with the dough. There is no need to add water now. Mix it well and keep it aside for 2-3 minutes till the oil gets hot. It is mixed well now. Keep it aside. I have added oil in a wok. Once the oil gets hot, I will show you the pakoda. Keep it on medium flame. Do not keep it on high flame. You can also make it with oil in a spoon. It will be very crispy. It will taste very good with tea. You can have it as a snack. Do not stir immediately after putting the pakoda in oil. Stir it after 2 minutes. Turn it upside down. It is looking very good. I will show you with water. You can do this with your hands. You can make small balls with the dough. It will not stick in your hands if you dip your hand in water. Make all pakodas like this. It is looking very good. It is very hot. Kids will be hungry when they come back from school. It is healthy. If you keep the batter for 4-5 hours then it will absorb oil. If you keep it for 10-15 minutes then it will not absorb oil.
