Don't Let The Man Get You Down

2007. An oldie, but a goodie. This is a music video I put together for my film production 101 class back in high school. The song I chose was "Long Haired Freaky People" by Fatboy Slim. The narrative was basically about a young, underachieving skateboarder who wants to make some money to buy some cool stuff for himself (so basically still me). But he finds it hard acquiring a job in a society where he is looked at as an outsider. The video resolves itself with something I call 'simple symbolism' or unlucky luck. Where everything works itself out usually in the easiest way after you have just tried the hardest, most complicated methods of solving the problem. This was pre-DSLR days when everybody was still editing on Final Cut Pro 7. I had very little experience or skill behind a camera, but I loved telling stories and making people laugh... especially at my own expense.
