Provo Peak Mini Hiking Guide and Failed Attempt Provo Peak Traverse To East Provo Peak

September 2023 - I started at the Y Trailhead in Provo Utah and hiked to the summit of Provo Peak 11,068'. I attempted the Provo Peak traverse to East Provo Peak. It was difficult heading down from the Provo Peak summit to the saddle as it was extremely steep, with loose sharp rock. I had to reverse bear crawl down backwards most of the way and event brought some nice knee pads so my knees and legs wouldn't get destroyed. Once I got to the rock scrambling part I was able to go along it for a bit but then got cliffed out. I tried searching for a while for the most optimal way, and even down climbed to the bottom of the rock scrambling part, but it was too steep. I'll try for East Provo Peak again in the future either by in the Spring with a snow traverse or next summer from Cascade Mountain.
