T-90 "Vladimir" - the Russian main battle tank. It was created in the late 1980s and early 1990s as a deep modernization of the T-72B tank named "T-72B advanced", but in 1992 it was adopted for use under the T-90 index. After the death of Vladimir Ivanovich Potkin, the chief designer of the tank, the government of the Russian Federation T-90 was named "Vladimir". The T-90 has a classic layout, with the deployment of the control section in the frontal part, the combat compartment in the middle and the engine-transmission compartment in the aft part. The crew of the T-90 consists of three people - a driver-mechanic, located on the longitudinal axis of the tank in the control department and the gunner with the commander, located in the tower to the left and right of the gun, respectively. T-90 early modifications are equipped with a V-shaped 12-cylinder four-stroke multi-fuel diesel engine model B-84MS liquid cooling with direct fuel injection and a drive centrifugal supercharger. The V-84MS develops a maximum power of 840 hp. at 2000 rpm. On the T-90 of the late editions, T-90A, C, the V-92S2 engine is installed, which is a modernized V-84 and differs from it with the installation of a turbocharger and an improved design, which allowed to increase the engine's power up to 1000 hp. at 2000 rpm. The main instrument of the machine is a 125 mm smoothbore gun, with which a large-caliber machine gun is paired. The tank is equipped with automatic loading, this technical moment allowed to reduce the crew to 3 people and increase the rate of fire to 8 shots in 55 seconds against 2 rounds per minute with manual loading. Ammunition of the tank consists of 43 shells, most of which are armor-piercing sub-caliber, there are also fragmentation-explosive and cumulative. The fire control system T-90 has shown the following possibilities of combat fire. Strongly armored targets at a range of up to 5 km, the T-90 tank strikes on the move (up to 30 km / h) with a high probability of being hit by the first shot. During the state. tests, 24 rocket launches were carried out at ranges of 4-5 km and they all hit the target (all missile launches were made by inexperienced specialists). An experienced gunner for 54 seconds of movement at a speed of 25 km / h struck shells with 7 real armored targets located at ranges of 1500-2500 meters. More - see the video.
