Scout is officially making its comeback after a 44-year break, and it is doing so in style. The brand has revealed two production-ready concepts: the Scout Traveler sport utility vehicle (SUV) and the Scout Terra pickup truck. Both models pay homage to the original Scout vehicles, which were produced by International Harvester between 1961 and 1980. However, these new models bring a modern twist, as they are fully electric. Scout’s new lineup goes beyond just these two electric vehicles, offering an exciting combination of power, range, and off-road capability. One standout feature is the optional extended-range system called the Harvester. This gas-powered generator will increase the range of the electric vehicles to over 500 miles, while the electric vehicles themselves are expected to offer up to 350 miles of range on a single charge. Although Scout has not shared the exact technical specifications, it has mentioned that the electric vehicles will have up to 1,000 pound-feet of torque, making it possible to accelerate from 0 to 60 miles per hour in as little as 3.5 seconds. Built on a newly developed body-on-frame platform, the Scout Traveler and Terra will be serious off-roaders. The vehicles will support tires as large as 35 inches, offer over a foot of ground clearance, and can handle water crossings nearly three feet deep. Additionally, mechanical features such as front sway bar disconnect, front and rear mechanical lockers, and a solid rear axle are included, all contributing to their impressive off-road capabilities. The Scout Traveler SUV is projected to have a towing capacity of over 7,000 pounds, while the Terra truck will be able to tow more than 10,000 pounds. Both models will also have a payload capacity of nearly 2,000 pounds. They will utilize the North American Charging Standard, 800-volt architecture, and bi-directional charging, with the ability to support up to 350 kilowatts of charging power. The Terra will come with a 5.5-foot bed, complete with two 120-volt outlets and one 240-volt outlet, making it a versatile workhorse. Inside the vehicles, Scout is keeping things simple and rugged with tactile climate controls and a design inspired by the original Scout II. The Terra truck will even offer a front bench seat, a rare feature in modern trucks, and mechanical door handles for a classic touch. While the Traveler will start in the low $50,000 range and the Terra truck at around $51,500, both models are expected to have final prices under $60,000. However, production will not begin until 2027, so early buyers placing a $100 deposit will have a bit of a wait. #scouttraveler #scoutterra #newscoutvehicles Get More Great Car Videos - Subscribe: https://goo.gl/BSIaFc
