LAULAT MEMORIAL FOUNDATION 4TH YEAR ANNIVERSARY EYE SCREENING INITIATIVE ‘JIGI OLUOWO’ BRINGS HOPE TO OVER 120 BENEFICIARIES IN IGBOGBO KINGDOMU In a heartwarming display of community service and compassion, the Laulat Memorial Foundation held a successful eye screening program at the Oba Adeboruwa Palace in Igbogbo on November 8, 2024. This initiative, championed by the Foundation founder Prince Com. Olayiwola Oyedele Shotomiwa(Ola Ola), marked the non-profit organization’s fourth anniversary under the fitting theme, “Jigi Oluowo.” in honour and memory of Late Pa Thompson Oke Sotomiwa. The program began promptly at 8:30 a.m. with an opening prayer led by the Bishop of the United African Methodist Church (UAMC), Cathedral Eleja, Igbogbo, Rt. Toyi M.I setting a solemn yet hopeful tone. The screening was thoughtfully organized into two segments: the first focused on young pupils, and the second on adults, ensuring that beneficiaries of all ages were attended to with care. This initiative reached an impressive 122 participants, including 55 school pupils, 60 adults, and 7 members of the Foundation. Originally conceived to address the unique needs of two albino pupils—Aminat Ishola and Rahmon Ayuba—who have vision impairments, the program extended its reach to offer much-needed eye care to a larger number of individuals in Igbogbo.
