Lots of unique sights of old and new Jakarta in the Salemba area. Famously known for its original location of the University of Indonesia. Till this day the faculty of Medicine and Dentistry as well as Master Programmes can be found in this campus. St. Carolus was founded by the Society of St. Carolus (St. Carolus Vereeniging) as the charity that runs the hospital and officially operated on January 13, 1919. Many way finding signage can be found in this area to locate memorable buildings and attractions. This allows tourists as well as local travellers to enjoy strolling down the long Salemba road.
