That reflection is as secure as God, the Guarantor, Himself.2. The Two Adams: The Gift as The Cure (Romans 5:12–21) 🧬This section establishes the ultimate reason for our hope: a complete change in our spiritual identity and legal status, which we viewed through a Medical/Cure lens.The Tale of Two BloodlinesThe First Adam (Patient Zero/Old Donor): Introduced a spiritual genetic defect (Sin and Death) that was passed to all of humanity. This resulted in condemnation.The Second Adam (Jesus - The New Donor): Starts a new bloodline characterized by grace and life. To prove how strong the drug is, I will now smoke three packs of cigarettes a day."It is absurd because the patient should hate the disease they died to.The Mechanism of Death and LifeOur switch from Adam's bloodline to Christ's bloodline is symbolized by Baptism (v. 3-4), representing a death and resurrection.The Syllogism of Death:A dead person cannot be tempted by or commanded by sin.Your "Old Self" (the part connected to Adam) has died with Christ.Therefore, you are no longer a slave to sin.The Command (Romans 6:11): We must daily "Count yourselves dead to sin but alive to God." This means treating the Old Man as deceased. You don't have to answer the door when your old habits knock, because that tenant was evicted and executed. You are now occupied by a new life.
