Sundara Kāṇḍa Prārthanā Ślokāḥ are sacred invocatory verses traditionally recited before or after the Sundara Kāṇḍa of the Rāmāyaṇa. These prayers glorify Lord Hanuman, the divine messenger of Lord Śrī Rāma, and invoke protection, courage, wisdom, devotion, and victory over fear and obstacles. These shlokas praise Hanuman as: Faster than the mind, mightier than the wind Destroyer of demons and fear Ocean-leaping hero and seeker of Sītā The source of strength, intelligence, eloquence, and fearlessness Recitation of these prayers is believed to: Remove obstacles and dangers Grant courage, clarity, and devotion Protect the devotee during travel and hardship Strengthen Rama-bhakti and Hanuman-śaraṇāgati Ideal for Sundara Kāṇḍa pāṭha, Tuesday & Saturday worship, Hanuman Jayanti, daily prayers, and meditation. 📜 FULL English Translation (Complete) I bow with my head to Hanuman, who moves as fast as the mind, swift as the wind, master of his senses, the foremost among the wise, son of the Wind God, leader of the Vanara hosts, and divine messenger of Lord Rama. I worship Anjaneya, the heroic son of Anjana, destroyer of Sita’s sorrow, lord of the monkeys, slayer of Aksha, the one who struck terror in Lanka. I bow to the son of the Wind, who reduced the vast ocean to a small step, made demons insignificant like mosquitoes, and who shines as the jewel of the great garland called the Ramayana. Wherever the name of Lord Raghunatha (Rama) is sung, there Hanuman stands with folded hands, eyes filled with tears of devotion— I bow to that Maruti, destroyer of demons. I worship Hanuman, whose form bears the faces of monkey, man-lion, bird, boar, and horse, adorned with countless ornaments, radiant with divine brilliance, bearing weapons, scriptures, nectar, mountains, with ten arms, destroyer of all enemy pride. I worship Hanuman, remover of all misfortunes, bestower of auspiciousness, golden-eyed slayer of Aksha, ever engaged in the search for Sita, radiant like millions of suns and moons, terror of Lanka, giver of all blessings, honored by Sugriva, praised by Indra and all gods, the divine messenger of Rama. From surrender to Hanuman arise intelligence, strength, fame, courage, fearlessness, health, clarity, and eloquence. Salutations to Lord Rama with Lakshmana, and to Goddess Sita, daughter of King Janaka. Salutations to Rudra, Indra, Yama, Vayu, and to the Moon, Sun, and hosts of Maruts. Victory to the supremely powerful Rama, victory to mighty Lakshmana, victory to King Sugriva, protected by Lord Rama. “I am the servant of Rama, the king of Kosala, of flawless deeds. I am Hanuman, son of the Wind, destroyer of enemy armies.” Even a thousand Ravanas cannot withstand me in battle when I strike with rocks and uprooted trees. After destroying the city of Lanka and paying obeisance to Mother Sita, I shall return successful, even as all demons look on helplessly. If Rama, son of Dasharatha, is righteous and true to His word, and unmatched in valor, then let this arrow destroy Ravana’s son. “To anyone who seeks refuge in Me even once, saying ‘I am Yours,’ I grant fearlessness from all beings— this is My eternal vow.” #SundaraKanda #HanumanPrarthana #RamBhakti #HanumanStotra #JaiShriRam
