It’s not usually bad marketing. Products fail because they don’t actually solve the problem they’re supposed to. That’s why the very first thing I focus on when building something new is feasibility. Not the design. Not packaging. Not battery life. It’s just this: Does this core idea actually work? A Proof-of-Concept (POC) helps me answer that. It might be clunky, oversized, or missing key features—but it gives us a way to test whether the heart of the product delivers. For example: If I'm building a pet tracker, I don’t start by making it sleek or battery-powered. I start by answering: Can I actually track this thing from a handheld device—even through a wall? If we can’t do that reliably, the rest doesn’t matter. From there, we move on to the higher-risk aspects: range, power, form factor, user interface. But the most critical step is confirming we can solve the problem in the first place. That’s the role of the POC.
