Welcome to the first segment of the CSCC Business Insights 2026 series, and we invite our Slovenian members and associates to learn about the Canadian economic sector through this interactive conference. Our keynote speaker is Robert Kavcic, Director and Senior Economist at BMO Capital Markets, where he is widely recognized for his expertise in Canadian economic, fiscal, and real estate trends. He is frequently featured on major media outlets including CBC, CNN, Bloomberg, and Business News Network, and regularly contributes to leading financial publications. Since joining BMO Capital Markets in 2006, Robert has played an integral role in shaping economic analysis and commentary across the country. Prior to that, he worked in the research department at the Bank of Canada. Robert earned his Honours Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Western Ontario and his Master’s degree in Economics from Carleton University.
