Jeetendra is one of Hindi cinema’s most iconic and enduring stars, celebrated for his energetic screen presence, stylish dance moves, and a career that has spanned over five decades. Born Ravi Kapoor on 7 April 1942 in Amritsar, India, he rose from humble beginnings to become a household name in Bollywood. Jeetendra made his breakthrough with Farz (1967), which established him as a leading man. He went on to deliver a string of blockbuster hits including Humjoli, Khilona, Parichay, Maa, Dharam Veer, Suhaag, Tohfa, Himmatwala, and Mawali. Known as the “Jumping Jack of Bollywood,” he became famous for his high-energy dance style—often paired with his trademark white outfits and shoes—setting trends that defined an era. Equally admired for his versatility, Jeetendra excelled in romantic dramas, family entertainers, and action films, working with legendary filmmakers and co-stars. He has been honored with several accolades, including the Filmfare Lifetime Achievement Award and the Padma Shri for his contribution to Indian cinema. Beyond films, Jeetendra successfully transitioned into television as a producer. His family—wife Shobha Kapoor and children Ekta Kapoor and Tusshar Kapoor—has played a major role in shaping Indian television and cinema, further cementing his legacy in entertainment. From box-office superstardom to cultural icon, Jeetendra remains a symbol of dedication, style, and timeless popularity in Indian cinema.
