As major station rehabilitation work continues on the Flushing Line, the MTA has implemented an innovative solution to keep service flowing while the Manhattan-bound platforms are rebuilt at 52nd Street and 69th Street: temporary platforms have been installed at 33rd St–Rawson, 40th St–Lowery, and 46th St–Bliss Streets! These platforms allow 7 trains to use the express track while still making stops at these local stations, maintaining access for riders, and minimizing disruptions and slowdowns associated with the construction work. This unique setup means trains are skipping the usual local tracks, and instead stopping on the express — a rare and exciting sight on this part of the line. It also offers incredible, unobstructed views from the elevated express track, showcasing one of the most scenic stretches in the entire NYC Subway system, with stunning urban vistas and a bird's-eye perspective of Queens.
