A 21-year-old man from Cameron, North Carolina, was shot and killed by law enforcement early Sunday morning after he attempted to breach the perimeter of Mar-a-Lago while armed with a gas can and a shotgun. The man, identified as Austin Tucker Martin, had graduated from Union Pines High School three years prior and had started his own artwork company, Fresh Sky Illustrations, focused on golf course illustrations in 2025. In an update released Monday night, FBI Miami said investigators have secured the Mar-a-Lago scene, collected evidence from Martin’s North Carolina residence, and taken possession of his vehicle for further processing. They are also interviewing family and acquaintances, reviewing digital devices, tracing his route from North Carolina to Palm Beach County, and reviewing social media activity to establish a timeline and possible motive.
