The session introduces "Launchpad for Literacy" as a developmental approach or toolkit, primarily underpinned by a skills framework. This framework, which is the main document in the approach, plots out the incremental development of skills involved in speech, language, and communication. It includes skills needed for spoken communication and very specific skill steps that underpin phonics readiness, reading comprehension, and inference as a child enters Key Stage 1. It also integrates visual and fine motor skills, which are fundamental for literacy readiness, thereby bringing together literacy readiness and speech, language, and communication into one cohesive framework. Key Applications and features of Launchpad for Literacy covered in this session include: • Diagnostic Capability • Gap Closing • Toolkit and Supporting Materials: • Targeted Practice / Embedded Interventions • Complements Other Programs e.g. NELI, Talk Boost, Blast • Professional Growth - A CPD Tool • EYFS Reforms Implementation • Phonics Readiness (Phase 1) • Wider Literacy Skills • Reception Application • Special Educational Needs (SEN) • Working with Outside Agencies ➡️ Access the Launchpad Newsletters https://links.launchpadforliteracy.co.... scroll towards the bottom of the page ➡️ Subscribe to our Youtube Channel / @launchpadforliteracy-kpage ➡️ Access our Playlists with Free CPD sessions: / @launchpadforliteracy-kpage ➡️ The L.Pad & Tapestry Podcast:Understanding Children's Language & Communication Development https://fsf-podcasts.simplecast.com/e... ➡️If you would like to access our GLD strategy document please email us at [email protected]
