The tuk tuks of San Marcos, as presented by four local drivers. One of the first things I noticed in San Marcos was the vibrant tuk tuk culture. Just like Guatemalan buses, the tuk tuks here are heavily personalised and very boisterous. Jonatan, Nelson, Marvin and Darío were kind enough to show me their tuk tuks and talk me through some of their steez. Thank you guys. This video is slightly different to my two previous interviews. I’m trying a few different formats to see what works and what doesn’t. Once again though, I’m trying to keep the focus on everyday people, and their lived experiences. In Jonatan’s tuk tuk, there is a sticker in the Kaqchikel language. This, like Diego the fisherman’s Tz’utujil, is another of Guatemala’s 24 distinct indigenous languages. Hope you enjoy the video.
