How to get to Bald Knob. Pinnacle Mountain summit hike at Table Rock State Park via Bald Knob, Mill Creek Pass, and the Ridge Trail loop. Today’s hike at Table Rock State Park did not go as planned… and it is one of the toughest hikes in the Upstate. The original plan was a quick hike to Bald Knob, but one trail decision led to another, and, suddenly, we were doing the full loop. We went back to the mill creek pass intersection and decided to take that, hoping to find Mill Creek Falls. Didnt find the falls, but we ended up climbing to the summit of Pinnacle Mountain after taking the rugged Ridge Trail from the Mill Creek Pass side. This route is steep, rocky, and demanding, but the reward is some of the best views in South Carolina. From massive rock outcrops to sweeping Blue Ridge foothill scenery, every mile of this hike delivers.
