Location: Cloverdale Community Park System: Putnam County Testing schedule: Second Monday of every month at 10 AM (tornado), every Saturday at noon (fire) Testing time: 10:11:26 AM (11 minutes late) Cycle when tested: 3 minute alert (tornado), 1-3 minute attack (fire) Camera used: Sony CyberShot DSC-400V Recording distance from siren: 145 feet Loudness: Quite potent from afar - 116.9 dBA Temperature: 49°F Other enthusiasts present: Connor (@Thunderbolt1000Tfan ) Other notes: Here's the video I got of the 2001 in Cloverdale with my CyberShot when we tried the Model 2 just under a quarter mile south of this last month. For some reason, the 2 didn't sound, even though it went the previous month, which you can see in the audio recording I uploaded right before this. I started recording on the Sony at 9:45, but the county tested 11 minutes late and the camera has a 30 minute video limit (which I didn't know about before this), which it reached while the siren was still winding down, so it stopped recording. Unfortunately, I wasn't standing right by the camera when it happened, but thankfully, I had a video on my phone that I could use for the rest of the wind-down, so I switched to that until I restarted the video on the CyberShot. It was kind of windy out, which made the footage a bit shaky at some points. I don't know why, but the siren also drifted left then right before going back to the middle of the frame in some of the instances it faced the camera, so I stabilized the video in editing to try making the movements not as pronounced. Anyways, once this thing fired up and the Model 2 stayed silent, we started sprinting to this as fast as we could before slowing down to walking and jogging once we got worn out. This thing was actually quite potent from afar when the horn faced us. It might be one of the louder 2001's I've been to distance-wise, but up close it felt about average. My decibel reader registered 97.9 dBA from 975 feet away and 103 from 650 feet. Then it got up to 110 from a little over 400 feet from it and topped at 116.9 dBA from 250 feet, which is pretty impressive for a 2001. Anyhow, even though the Model 2 failed, I'm glad I at least got an up close video of this unit sounding. Enjoy! Follow me on Instagram: @buckeyenotifications
