Oxnard: Bicyclist Struck and Killed on Dark Stretch of Wooley Road

Oxnard Police, Oxnard Fire, and Gold Coast Paramedics responded to a traffic collision in the 500 block of Wooley Road at 6:29 p.m. on Wednesday. Arriving units located a bicyclist down in the roadway and a black Toyota SUV stopped nearby. Paramedics rendered aid and transported the cyclist to a local hospital, but the victim was pronounced deceased during transport. The driver, an elderly woman, remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators. The Oxnard Police Traffic Unit handled the investigation on a stretch of Wooley Road known for being poorly lit and the site of multiple past collisions involving pedestrians and cyclists. ⚠️ Viewer discretion advised.
