I love testing out beauty gadgets, so when I heard about T3's new curling iron which it says will create, "flawless curls, powered by science" I was more than a little interested. The T3 Micro Twirl 360 is a 1.25" barrel ceramic curling iron. While it looks like most standard curling irons, its lovely white sheathing makes it look ultra modern. But behind the nice styling is some serious technology, because this curling iron can curl your hair virtually by itself, because it has a built in gyroscope that whirls the curls for you. How to use T3 Micro Twirl 360 I got a chance to test the Twirl 360 for several weeks. In my experience T3 Micro's Twirl 360 is ultra easy to use and produces, shiny, bouncy curls, that last. You clip your hair into the hinged clamp on the barrel, and pull it through so the end is under the clamp. There's a small button on the handle that you push, as you flick your wrist (gently) and as you do the barrel begins to rotate on its own until it winds all the hair up. You stop this motion by releasing the button. Hold until your hair is ready; anywhere from 5-10 seconds or more depending on your hair and how firm you want the curls, then release. Let the curls cool and then loosen with a brush or your fingers if you wish. While the Twirl 360 takes a few tries to get used to it's quite intuitive and you'll be curling your hair quickly and easily in no time. What’s the technology in the Twirl 360? The curling iron has a built in gyroscope, so it's able to detect the motion of your wrist and will automatically propel the barrel in the desired direction. T3 Micro says this technology is typically used in space exploration (and more commonly today in smartphones and activity trackers), and as a result this is a first for the hair tools industry. Features of T3 Micro Twirl 360: variable speed, heat The T3 Micro Twirl 360 has two rotational speed settings, a slower rotation and a quicker one. Most folks will start out slow, then move up to the faster speed as they get used to the device. Women with longer hair will probably also want to speed up their hairstyling by using the quicker speed. The cool touch tip lets you hold on to the end of the barrel, as you can with most regular curling irons, to manouver it as well. There are several heat settings too on the Twirl 360. Get temperatures from 260°F – 410°F so you'll always have the right setting for your particular hair. The auto-off feature is also pretty handy, since if you stop using it, it will shut down after an hour.
