It was great to get back on the track! I have not been on two wheels since March race. That race I had my leg/foot going numb from my herniated L5s1 disc and annular tear. Even though in a ton of pain I could not stay home and decided to at least get out to see how my body does again. I felt alot better while on the bike but the drive home I was in a ton of pain. Since I took 60 days off from riding hoping my sciatic nerve pain would subside (which it did not change a bit even with an epidural shot a couple weeks ago) I definitely lost my stamina on the bike. Today was about 85 degrees which was not bad but probably did not help either. The 2021 KTM 300 XCW TPI is an excellent bike. I have about eight hours total on this bike so far. I raced this bike in the AMRA GP race at ACP in January (youtube video posted). The bike was amazing! I took 4th place in open class (green plate). The GP race has the vet, national and vintage track as well as the desert course all together which makes for an epic race (five plus laps averaging about 10 minute laps). By far one of the coolest races I have done since riding and racing again this past year. I would most likely use my KTM 450 for the 2022 race though. I think I will be much faster on the 450 with the deep sand and the motorcross tracks for that race. The mods on the KTM 300: REP/AEO cone forks and rebuilt shock for my weight (190 lbs plus gear), FMF pipe and silencer, Rekluse Clutch. This bike is an excellent all around bike. The stock suspension is really good if you are doing just single track. Once you start jumping or take it to a motorcross track for my weight (at any level rider) you are going to need to mod the suspension. The 300 feels extremely light and nimble and why I took it out today since I have not ridden in a while. Feel free to comment below with any questions/comments.
