I got the chance to sit down with Becky "Big Canoe" at the recent World Peace Gathering in Cork and had a rare and fruitful opportunity to ask her about her "The Kinship Way" that she launched at the World Peace Gathering Becky Big Canoe, Anishinaabe kwe is from the Lake Simcoe Band. She is a grandmother, land and water protector, artist, and visionary. Becky has spent her life advocating for Indigenous women, water justice, housing, and land sovereignty. As a co-founder of the first Indigenous Land Trust, she has been a tireless force for Indigenous-led conservation. At this year’s gathering, Becky officially launched her visionary framework, The Kinship Way - a pathway for humanity rooted in ancestral wisdom, mutual respect, and self-determining community life. The Kinship Way offers a transformational model for living together - grounded in Indigenous clan systems, the Seven Grandfather Teachings, and the principles of local governance, peace, and honor. This is more than a presentation - it’s an invitation to help shape a future guided by collective spirit, justice, and deep kinship with one another and the Earth. Based on the indigenous "medicine wheel" of four colours (Red, White, Black, and Yellow), and three animals symbolising the land, air, and water, Becky's system divides people into twelve random groups. 👉🏼 𝗗𝗼𝘄𝗻𝗹𝗼𝗮𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗞𝗶𝗻𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 𝗪𝗮𝘆: https://kindredspirits.earth/the-kins... 👉🏼 𝗪𝗮𝘁𝗰𝗵 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗟𝗮𝘂𝗻𝗰𝗵 𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲: / 1370060154475912 𝗝𝗼𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗹 𝘁𝗼 𝗴𝗲𝘁 𝗮𝗰𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗺𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿𝘀' 𝗼𝗻𝗹𝘆 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗸𝘀: / @brehonacademy If you enjoyed this content, please consider subscribing to the channel and liking the video, since it's all we do.
