Not only did he have one 80 point show winning 1964 Impala SS Big Block he happened to have a second one that was used for parts. Now things were sounding interesting to Rick. The buyer made a trip from Kentucky to Toledo Ohio with his offerings. After taking a look at what's was offered, Rick was sold. Goodbye motorcycle and hello Impala. He now had his dream car. A mint show quality, black on black 1964 Chevy Impala Big Block. It just so happened that later that week Rick decided to pop in one of his favorite movies, Up in Smoke. Rick had seen it lots of times before and its humor even got him through some tough times in his life. This time was different. Those that have seem the movie know the opening scene. Parked in the street is Cheech's 1964 Chevy Impala low rider. Roll up the back window and the low ridding Love Machine is ready. This time watching the movie something clicked. Rick could turn his mint 1964 Impala SS Big Block into the exact replica. People thought he was crazy. Rick went forward with the project with the support of his son and his true friends. After 4 years of a pain staking build out Rick's low ridding Love Machine is 95 complete. His attention to detail is undeniable. With just a few small details to complete Rick believe he has built the finest example of the Love Machine ever built. Its a good think fate would intervene again. When Rick heard the commercial that Tommy Chong was coming to B.D.T. Smoke Shop in Hazel Park he just has to find a way to get there. Upon speaking to owner Curt Goure a plan was hatched to get the car to Michigan for the April 1st 2016 appearance of Tommy Chong.
