Meet Dr. Jinny Gunn, Breast Specialist & Surgeon at Bay Surgical Specialists, St. Petersburg, FL

Dr. Jinny Gunn was born and raised in Florida. After serving in the U.S. Navy, she obtained a Bachelor’s of Science degree from the University of California, San Diego. She then returned to Florida where she received her medical degree from Florida International University in Miami. She continued her medical training during her general surgery residency at Mayo Clinic Florida in Jacksonville. Her last year of training at Mayo Clinic was focused on surgical oncology and breast disease. She is a member of the American Society of Breast Surgeons, American College of Surgeons and the Society of Surgical Oncology and has held multiple positions within the Florida Medical Association. Dr. Gunn’s clinical and research interests include the surgical management of breast disease, with emphasis on skin-sparing, nipple-sparing and oncoplastic techniques. She is passionate about providing integrative care to cancer patients. She also offers surgical treatment for melanoma as well as open and minimally invasive approaches for hernia repair. She chose to live and practice in St. Petersburg, Florida, because of its small-town charm in a metro setting. She is a champion for incorporating state-of-the-art surgical technologies in hopes that it will provide additional comfort and precise care to patients.
