@raymondcarrickclevelandwayfare A video journey taken from a first-person perspective of a circular walk from Skelwith Bridge to the impressive Cathedral Cave. Despite its cave-like appearance, Cathedral Cave is actually a disused slate quarry, part of a network of interlinked quarries shaped by centuries of mining activity. The central “cathedral” chamber stands about 40 feet high, with a vaulted roof and dramatic lighting from two large openings, giving it a spiritual, awe-inspiring feel. Visitors can explore several tunnels, including one that stretches around 400 feet—a torch is recommended for deeper exploration. The walk then progresses to Little Langdale, then Elterwater, following the River Brathay back to Skelwith Bridge. 7 miles long and suitable for most walkers of reasonable fitness. The video is sub-titled with comments and descriptions as we progress along the route.
