Here's an excerpt from my new book, "Street Hypnosis." “Saturday night we went out for street hypnosis on Fremont Street. I knew I should have stayed home, but I was supposed to be leading the street hypnosis that Antonio was organizing. If you’ve never been there, Fremont Street is Surreal! There is a mesh covering overhead where they project video and play loud, pounding music. There are mobs of people and street performers. There were three busloads of hypnotists from the convention plus those who got there by their own devices… probably 80 of us. When I got there, they asked me to start. I began by hypnotizing one of our group… the “hypnotize a friend” routine. To save my voice I did a non-verbal fixation induction and then went to some routines. The crowd formed, as usual. As I worked, I noticed a pretty, young Japanese woman who looked interested. When I had finished I asked her if she would play. She was eager, but I worried if her command of English would be good enough to catch the semantics of the routines. She was great! I walked her through some “sticky” routines and she did really well! Then I approached a lady who was in the growing crowd and asked her if she wanted to play. She was a little tentative so I did “finger magnets” with her. She was delighted with that and said she wanted to continue. I did stiff arm catalepsy waking hypnosis and moved on to stick her hand to her head. We continued on to an induction. All the while my voice was getting worse. By the time I finished with her, my voice was shot! I looked around and several hypnotists (I won’t mention them because I am sure to forget one and offend him/her) were doing work. And they were great! I was so bummed to have to stand by and watch!
