A nice gentle walk around Castle Sinclair Girnigoe, a historic and dramatic ruin located on the east coast of Caithness in the Scottish Highlands overlooking Sinclair Bay, providing views of the North Sea. The castle is believed to have been built in the late 14th or early 15th century by the Sinclair family, the Earls of Caithness. It served as the seat of the Sinclair clan for several centuries. The castle's history is marked by conflicts, sieges, and political intrigue, reflecting the turbulent history of the Scottish Highlands. It was a significant stronghold during the medieval period and into the early modern era. The castle fell into disrepair in the late 17th century after the Sinclairs were involved in several feuds and conflicts, including the Wars of the Three Kingdoms.
