Simple information about SMAW welding process in hindi language.which is useful for beginners and ITI students. This video is about shielded metal arc welding process. Polarity refers to the way in which the electrode lead is connected to the DC welding power source. When welding with positive polarity the electrode lead is connected to the positive terminal of the POWER SOURCE. When welding with negative polarity the electrode lead is connected to the negative terminal the power source. Changing polarity with DC does not change the direction of current flow. Current still flows from the negative to the positive pole. Changing polarity, however, alters the point at which the greater portion of heat is generated in the welding circuit. Example: most of the heat is generated at the electrode with +ve polarity,Up to 65-70 % of total power and 30-35 % to the negative terminal of the power source
