All game overs are cut out because these videos would be unnecessarily longer otherwise. This is when the game's difficulty starts ramping up and I actually had to look up a guide to figure out how to get past this before losing my patience. It helps to see the entire map for where to go and where to pick up items, because these maps are also starting to get pretty big and filled with branching paths that lead to only dead ends. Items actually helped a lot in this stage, such as having the blue shoes for being able to move across the large water sections without getting slowed down. But most of these items are hidden from plain view until you step on certain grids of the map. Old games really love cryptic stuff and just expect you to know them somehow. If games do that type of stuff today, it’d probably just be viewed as a game of all time. Looks at Paper Mario: Sticker Star’s puzzles and bosses. Anyway, the town section has a snowy theme now with white trees, and there’s also a weird canyon section with narrow straight paths that are somewhat unsafe because there are birds that shoot shurikens at you while flying across the map. Since when can birds throw shurikens? The interior part introduced yet another enemy type I absolutely hate: the ninjas with fireballs spinning around them. Due to how many and quickly the fireballs spin around them, it’s extremely difficult to approach them and squeeze through the fireballs’ movement. They can also start throwing fireballs at you after some time. I got very annoyed by them and pretty much just always saved the invisibility on them to bypass these guys instead of actually dealing with them properly. Their fireballs can also block your projectiles often and prevent you from hitting them from afar, and overall they just suck really. Paused a lot in this stage because I was checking on my phone for the map of the castle I found on a website for the guide of this game. This game doesn’t have an in-game map so things can really start getting messy when rooms all look pretty similar while you try to survive the bullet hell. Lord Ryokusame here fights by creating three clones of himself and firing fireballs at you alongside the clones. You can only damage the real one, and it’s really up to RNG to decide whether you’ll hit the real guy. The room also spawns generic ninjas all the time for more hazards to screw you up.
