MUSAWAH (‘equality’ in Arabic) is a global movement built on the shared purpose of achieving equality and justice for all women in Muslim contexts. We believe that equality in the family is possible through a holistic approach that brings together Islamic teachings, universal human rights principles, fundamental rights and constitutional guarantees, and the lived realities of today. Here are ways you can be a part of the movement: – Are you a young advocate? Kickstart your advocacy with our ‘For Moment to Movement: A Toolkit to Advocate for Reform’: https://www.musawah.org/advocacy-tool... - a one-stop online resource for national and regional advocates to engage in Muslim family law reform. – Do you want to follow the conversation? Check out our social media: Twitter: @musawah, Facebook & Instagram: @musawahmovement You can also share the film and tag us @musawah / @musawahmovement with the hashtag #FreeOurFamilyLaws with your story and what the movement means to you. –Are you part of an organisation working on Family Laws? Reach out to us at [email protected] if your community/organisation is interested to join our capacity-building programme. – Are you a writer or journalist? You can pitch a blog article to share an advocacy campaign you were a part of and/or facilitated, your personal lived experience living under discriminatory family laws and/or resources on the intersections of Islam and feminism. Write to [email protected] for English pitches and [email protected] for Arabic pitches. Read our writing guidelines here: https://www.musawah.org/write-for-us/
