When you walk in, you’re greeted at the front desk and asked for your ID, just like at any other recreational dispensary. But Moe Greens co-owner and CEO Nate Haas said that’s where the similarities end. While California law says local governments can allow on-site consumption, there are only a handful of licensed cannabis clubs in the state. This is due to the dozens of restrictions making it costly to do so. If you choose to consume your cannabis products in Moe Greens’ lounge, any items you could need are provided for you. Haas said he knows walking into a dispensary for the first time can be anxiety-provoking. While recreational cannabis is still illegal in most U.S. states, Haas says one of the purposes of a place like Moe Greens is disproving the stigmas surrounding cannabis.
