Do quantum effects exist in my house? And how can quantum physics be used in everyday life? In the third episode of the QUANTube video series, our PhD student Adam explains what refrigerator magnets, cell phones and doctor's check-ups have to do with quantum physics and why his work is the basis for our modern electronics. “QUANTube – science break” is a video series connected to the mobile game “Kitty Q – a Quantum Adventure” created by the Cluster of Excellence ct.qmat of the TU Dresden and the University of Würzburg. Since the release of the Kitty Q app created by the Cluster of Excellence ct.qmat and prize-winning app designer Phillip Stollenmayer, more than 500 questions of users from around the globe have reached us.
