Two instruments from the collection of the Museum of Historical Instruments in Provins will be featured in recitals recorded exclusively for the 2021 Boston Early Music Festival. The founder of the Museum, Alan Rubin, welcomes the Festival, acknowledging Boston's long history with the Early Music movement, and introduces his Museum that will open soon in Provins, France. A legendary antiques dealer, Rubin now focuses on his lifelong passion for music and antique instruments. Keyboard virtuoso Benjamin Alard will perform on two instruments from the Museum's collection and recorded at the Musée de Provins et du Provinois. As part of the Organ Mini-Festival on Wednesday, June 9, Alard performed on the Castle Grant Chamber Organ by John Byfield II, London.
