Instead of responding to its fragmented residential surroundings, the home aligns with the garden and mountain horizon, becoming an organic extension of nature itself. Its most poetic gesture lies in the use of the Japanese shou sugi ban technique, where charred larch creates a dark, iridescent façade that protects the structure while blending seamlessly with the wooded environment. A fair-faced concrete base anchors the house, while a lightweight timber volume above opens generously toward natural light. Inside, birch wood surfaces wrap the interiors in warmth and softness, contrasting the textured exterior. Sustainable by design and philosophy, the house embraces time, seasons, and material authenticity—transforming fire, wood, and landscape into a unified architectural language. #woodenarchitecture #ShouSugiBan #sustainabledesign #modernhouse #timberhouse #italianarchitecture #ecoarchitecture #natureinspired #contemporarydesign #minimalisthome
