With MAIA, Milestone introduces a virtual product specialist capable of delivering immediate, context-specific information to support daily laboratory operations. The system provides guidance on sample handling, method selection, maintenance procedures, and troubleshooting. Users can interact with MAIA through a built-in chat interface or via voice commands, enabling faster and more intuitive access to information directly at the instrument or through Milestone Connect. A key component of the new system is MAIA Lens, an AI-powered visual recognition feature that allows users to identify consumables by scanning them. Once identified, MAIA Lens provides step-by-step instructions for correct maintenance or replacement, supporting proper system care and helping reduce downtime. MAIA is available starting January 1st, 2026 on ultraWAVE 3 and ETHOS systems, including units already installed in laboratories. This feature gives Milestone’s customers immediate access to 40 years of expertise whenever they need it.
