Diagnosed with gastroschisis as an infant, Julieh received a five-organ multivisceral transplant when she was three months old. She doesn’t recall the procedure, but she’ll never forget years later when she was in the hospital for treatment: A Boston Children’s Hospital nurse went out of his way in the middle of the night to get her cookies and cream chocolate.
