Episode # 5408 ON YOUR HONOR, YOUR HONOR Original airdate: 10-17-54 A young widow - with the same last name as a mayoralty candidate - becomes the innocent pawn of a group of unscrupulous politicians. Penny Blodgett (played by Loretta Young) is asked to run for mayor, believing her opponent is a crooked opportunist. That belief, however, changes when they finally meet in a political debate. John Archer plays Perry Blodget, the opposition candidate with the same last name as Penny. Archer attended the University of Southern California where he studied cinematography, expecting work behind the camera but he drifted into acting instead, working as a radio announcer and actor, including one year in the starring role of Lamont Cranston in The Shadow Archer was married twice. First to actress Marjorie Lord. They had two children, including daughter actress Anne Archer. Archer also had two children with his second wife, Ann Leddy, to whom he was married from 1956 until his death. He died on December 3, 1999, from lung cancer in Redmond, Washington, at age 84. Harry Shannon and Paul Brinegar play Penny's political backers. Paul Brinegar played in many episodes of this series over the years. Harry Shannon is best known for his parts in Westerns, but his best-known film role was perhaps as Charles Foster Kane's rough father in Citizen Kane (in 1941). Shannon died at the age of seventy-four in Hollywood, California. Of interest in this episode, the off-screen voices of political ads were performed by Larry Harmon, better known by his alter-ego and owner of the 'Bozo the Clown' franchise. Harmon died of congestive heart failure in his home in Los Angeles, California, on July 3, 2008. Directed by Harry Keller Story and screenplay by Lowell S.
