Strong storms recently removed much of the sand on this beach, then a super low "king tide" exposed borders and rocky reef, making it a great place for dogs and their humans to explore. Dog Beach in Del Mar, California is a popular off-leash beach where dogs are allowed to run and play without a leash. It is located in North County San Diego and stretches from 29th Street to the north end of Solana Beach. The beach is open to dogs all year round, but during the summer season, lifeguards are present and dogs must be leashed. The beach is known for its cleanliness, friendly atmosphere and beautiful coastal views. Street parking north of the bridge requires payment and is very strictly enforcement, but parking south of bridge is free.
