The film stars Mark Wahlberg as Daniel Lugo, a bodybuilder and personal trainer who becomes obsessed with achieving the American dream through wealth and status. Alongside fellow gym rats Adrian Doorbal, played by Anthony Mackie, and Paul Doyle, played by Dwayne Johnson, Lugo devises a plan to kidnap and extort a wealthy client. What begins as a misguided get-rich-quick scheme quickly spirals into a series of increasingly violent and absurd crimes. The film explores themes of ambition, delusion, and the dark side of the pursuit of success. Each of the main characters believes they deserve more from life, but their lack of foresight and moral compass leads them into chaos. The trio’s actions become more reckless as they try to maintain their lavish new lifestyles while covering up their escalating crimes. Despite their incompetence, they remain convinced they are doing the right thing, which fuels the film’s satirical edge.
