Welcome back and thanks for checking out another video! During our vacation to Banff we took a 2 hour drive up to Jasper to visit the Columbia Icefield. When booking this excursion I was torn as some reviews stated tourist trap.... well family that it was not. This place was nothing shy of magical. Nature at its finest. When you stand in front of these ancient glaciers, along the Icefield Parkway, time envelops you and awe leaves you speechless. These icefields developed over 240,000 years ago! Just as the name implies these glaciers or “fields of ice” is the largest ice field in the Canadian Rockies and is the largest south of the Arctic Circle. The guided tour was worth every dollar to learn the true history related to aboriginal discovery and everything you didnt know about glaciers and global warming. We had a great day led by Amherst Ben (a follow Nova Scotia) our Ice Explorer Drive and braved the cold to take in the sites of something that could disappear in our lifetime. #canada #columbiaicefield #glaciers
