The American rapper, born Gilbert Milam Jr., has been making waves in the music industry for the past decade and shows no signs of slowing down. Born on October 27, 1984, in San Francisco, California, Berner grew up in the city’s Mission District. Nonetheless, he developed a love for music at a young age and began rapping and recording his music in his early teens. Background in Music In 2007, he released his first mixtape, “The White Album,” which caught the attention of fellow Bay Area rapper, Too $hort. Also, he signed with Too $hort’s Dangerous Music label and released several successful mixtapes, including “Drought Season” and “Drought Season 2.” In 2011, he signed with Taylor Gang Records and released his first studio album, “Urban Farmer,” which featured collaborations with artists such as Wiz Khalifa, B-Real, and B-Legit. Furthermore, he followed up with several other successful albums, including “Drugstore Cowboy” and “Hempire,” which cemented his place in the rap game. Involvement in the Cannabis Industry In addition to his music, Berner is also known for his commitment to marijuana legalization and activism. For example, he has launched several successful marijuana-related businesses, including Cookies SF, a clothing and accessories line, and Bern One Productions, a marijuana production company.
